Impact

The New Baltimore Conservancy plays an important role in protecting and caring for the natural landscapes that define the community of New Baltimore and the surrounding Hudson Valley. Through stewardship, restoration, and community engagement, the Conservancy works to ensure that local lands remain healthy, accessible, and inspiring for future generations.

NBC helps steward more than 300 acres of forests, wetlands, meadows, and scenic open spaces, including destinations such as Long View Park and Hannacroix Creek Preserve. These landscapes provide important habitat for wildlife, protect water resources, and offer opportunities for residents and visitors to connect with nature.

The Conservancy’s work includes maintaining trails and public access points, restoring habitats through native plantings and invasive species removal, and collaborating with regional environmental organizations to improve ecosystem health. NBC also brings people together through volunteer stewardship days, educational programs, and community events that encourage a deeper understanding of the natural environment.

By combining conservation, education, and community involvement, the New Baltimore Conservancy is helping preserve the natural heritage of New Baltimore while building a stronger connection between people and the land.
